Celebrity Reader Interview: Frank Skinner

Frank Skinner, the UK comedian, writer, chat-show host, actor and presenter, answered some questions about his reading habits and favourite books for The Book Base.

What were your favourite books as a child?

I only ever read comic books as a child. British ones like The Beano and The Hurricane, and American Marvel and DC Comics.

What’s the best book you’ve read recently?

Neuromancer by William Gibson

Who are your favourite authors?

Harry Mulisch, James Ellroy and Philip K. Dick

What are you reading at the moment?

The Forever War by Joe Haldeman

As you’ve had several books published, what advice would you give to a beginning writer?

Don’t be one of those people who says they want to be a writer whilst never writing anything. You have to write, write, write, every chance you get.
