Here are her responses to our questions:
How long have you been a blogger?
I’ve been blogging since December 2010. It’s not a very long time, but I love blogging and I’m going to continue it for many years to come.
Approximately, how many books do you read every year?
Haha, I’m not even going to go and count the books I read in a year because it’s so much. I’m going to estimate it to around 300 or more.
What were your favourite books as a child?
As a child, I loved Disney and I would love reading all the princess books such as Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc. I also enjoyed the Ramona books by Beverly Cleary too. They were so funny and I loved Ramona. I would actually try to be like her at times.
What are you reading at the moment?
Right now I am reading The Sweetest Thing by Christina Mandelski and I’m loving it. It’s so cute and it’s all about baking which I love!
If you had to pick one, what’s the best book you’ve read in the last twelve months?
Oh gosh, this one’s hard. I love them all, but if I had to choose, it would be Torment by Lauren Kate. I absolutly fell in love with Fallen and Torment did not disappoint. I can’t wait to read Passion! I’m so excited for it and going back in time with Luce and Daniel.
Who are you three favourite authors?
Alyson Noel, Lauren Kate, and Kimberly Derting.
Which book has had the greatest impact on your life?
Evermore by Alyson Noel. The grief Ever goes through there, I know how she feels. The way Alyson Noel wrote the book was fabulous. Never did I want to put that book down and that book sparked my interest in becoming a writer and it was all because of Alyson Noel that I actually began writing my own novels.
Which books are you most eagerly anticipating?
Passion by Lauren Kate (of course! haha), Everlasting by Alyson Noel (final book in the series!!), Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick and Fateful by Claudia Gray.
Which book character is most like you?
Hmm, I would say Luce in Fallen. Even though my hair isn’y black (it’s dark brown) and I don’t have an angel in love with me, the way she handles situations is a lot like me. When she really wants to find something out, she goes out of her way to find it, even if it means getting in trouble. I as well do that at times. If there is something that doesn’t feel right and I really want to find out about it or learn more about it, I do a lot of research and I tend to ask a lot of questions.
If you had to invite some book characters round for dinner, who would you choose and why?
Daniel Grigori from Fallen. I mean, come on, he’s cute. He’s charming, sweet, can be a little arrogant, but he’s an angel and guardian. Who wouldn’t want that? I would also invite Patch from Hush, Hush. He too is just like Daniel and it would be great having two angels at the dinner table!
What advice would you give to new bloggers?
Write a review you feel comfortable about. Don’t write something just to please others because people read your blog to get an honest opinion on a book. Also, don’t give up. I know it can be hard because you may feel like no one is reading your blog or you don’t have much traffic, but it will come as you continue blogging even more. The harder you work, the bigger the rewards are going to be in the end.
Which other book blogs do you recommend?
