Book Blogger Q&A: The Amateur Voice of Kelsa P

Kelsa P. from The Amateur Voice of Kelsa P. kindly agreed to answer some questions for The Book Base. In doing so she became the 23rd person to complete the Book Blogger Q&A.

Here are her responses:

How long have you been a blogger?

I only started blogging February of this year. Sometimes I feel like a total novice when it comes to blogging, but figuring things out as you go is half the fun! 😀

Approximately, how many books do you read every year?

I never gave it much thought. Usually I have a lot of stuff going on, i.e: military, school, life in general so I read when I can. I’d have to guess that I read 100 a year? Give or take?

What were your favourite books as a child?

The first two Harry Potter books. I read the shit out of them as a kid! I only recently got my hands on the rest. 😀

What are you reading at the moment?

City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, Solid by Shelley Workinger; and Shadow Days: A Nightshade Novella by Andrea Cremer.

If you had to pick one, what’s the best book you’ve read in the last twelve months?

Where She Went by Gayle Forman. Hands down. That book was outstanding for me. Gotta love books from male protagonists with angst who are closet romantics.  😀

Who are your three favourite authors?

Since I can only pick three I’d have to say Gayle Forman, Annette Curtis Klause, and Andrea Cremer.

Which book has had the greatest impact on your life?

Wow. Another hard one to answer. I can think of several books that have an impacted on me on different levels. All of which were written by my favorite authors, too. If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman, Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause, Nightshade by Andrea Cremer, The Goddess Test by Amiée Carter,  The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, Falling Under by Gwen Hayes, The Host by Stephenie Meyer, and Carry Me Home by K. Syrah.

Which books are you most eagerly anticipating?

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer! And the rest of the chapters from Carry Me Home by K. Syrah.

If you had to invite some book characters round for dinner, who would you choose and why?

Wrath, Rhage, and Butch from The Black Dagger Brotherhood series – I would love to kick back and play a couple games of pool with them afterwards with Rhage on my team. Adam and Mia from If I Stay – I would totally ask them to educate me in the ways of awesome music since my tastes suck so hard. And Ren from Nightshade – Sexy, an Alpha, romantic. Need I say more?  *swoons*

What advice would you give to new bloggers?

  • Don’t stalk your blog status everyday. Loyal followers come with time.
  • Network! Make friends with other bloggers. Be a loyal follower and take the time to comment something meaningful and relevant to the post’s topic.
  • After you have a nice cache of reviews, be bold! Request new books from NetGalley and the like. It’s a great way to get your hands on new awesome reads.

Which other book blogs do you recommend?
