Book Blogger Q&A: A Journey of Books

The 28th post in our Book Blogger Q&A series features Cinnamon from A Journey of Books.

Here are her responses:

How long have you been a blogger?

I have been blogging since 2009 so roughly two years.

Approximately, how many books do you read every year?

The number varies and really depends on what I have going on that year. I would say that on average I read close to 100 books, if not more, each year.

What were your favourite books as a child?

The Anne McCaffrey Dragonriders of Pern series was my absolute favorite. Outside of that, anything with a horse!

What are you reading at the moment?

Currently I’m reading The Chosen, book three in The Nine Lives of Chloe King series by Liz Braswell. After that, I want to catch up on some young adult books that I haven’t had the time for yet. Also, I have the latest Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs sitting on my nightstand patiently waiting for me.

If you had to pick one, what’s the best book you’ve read in the last twelve months?

That’s a tough one! It’s going to be a toss up between Prey by Rachel Vincent or Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs. Perhaps Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs should be in there as well.

Who are you three favourite authors?

Three all time favorites? Umm…not sure. Three favorites that pop out at me currently – Anne McCaffrey, Patricia Briggs, Rachel Vincent.

Which book has had the greatest impact on your life?

Honestly, the Twilight Series and New Moon in specific. I still get heart pains when even thinking about those stories!

Which books are you most eagerly anticipating?

Any more Patricia Briggs books. Any more Rachel Vincent books.  Oooo, and any more Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels) books. Double Ooo, and perhaps any more Jim Butcher books.

If you had to invite some book characters round for dinner, who would you choose and why?

Mercy Thompson, Faythe, Kate Daniels, and Harry Dresden. Yes please. Right now!

What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Whatever you’re going to do, stay consistent.  Don’t hop around too much with genres and the sorts of things you write about.  Find a nice little niche and get cozy.

Which other book blogs do you recommend?

The Story Siren, All Things Urban Fantasy (check out Book Blogger Q&A 6, featuring Abigail from All Things Urban Fantasy), Literary Escapism, The Compulsive Reader, and any of your favorite authors’ blogs.
