Book Blogger Q&A: Books Make Great Lovers

Ashley from Books Make Great Lovers kindly agreed to answer some of our questions. She’s the 35th contributor to The Book Base’s Book Blogger Q&A series.

Here are her responses:

How long have you been a blogger?

Almost three years.

Approximately, how many books do you read every year?

Um, 175?

What were your favourite books as a child?

Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume. Read it four times before I was even 10.

What are you reading at the moment?

An Au Pairs book. The last one finally.

If you had to pick one, what’s the best book you’ve read in the last twelve months?

Tiger Eyes. Seriously, I read it over and over.

Who are you three favourite authors?

Judy Blume, Sarah Dessen, and Jay Asher.

Which book has had the greatest impact on your life?

Forever by Judy Blume. It shaped how I grew up. I feel like I grew up just so I would be old enough to read the book, haha. My mom made me wait until 8th grade.

Which books are you most eagerly anticipating?

Hooked by Catherine Greenman and Perfect by Ellen Hopkins.

If you had to invite some book characters round for dinner, who would you choose and why?

I can’t even begin to answer this one. There are way too many.

What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Read, read, read. The ARCs and publisher contacts will come later. You need to fall in love with reviewing and use your own books first.

Which other book blogs do you recommend?

The Story Siren. It’s obviously the best! 🙂

Many thanks to Ashley for taking the time to take part in this series.
