Book Blogger Q&A: Rabid Reads

Carmel from Rabid Reads kindly agreed to answer some questions for The Book Base. In doing so she became the 39th contributor to our Book Blogger Q&A series.

Rabid ReadsHere are her responses:

How long have you been a blogger?

Since the end of September 2010 so… a little over 9 months! Wow, has it been that long already!?

Approximately, how many books do you read every year?

My goal this year is to read 100 books. I never really kept track before I started book blogging so your guess is as good as mine! It’s definitely gone up since I started blogging though. Maybe the free book perks have something to do with that?

What were your favourite books as a child?

I’d have to say the Goosebumps and Nancy Drew series’.

What are you reading at the moment?

I just started reading the Chicagoland Vampires series last week and I’m officially hooked. Right now I’m reading Friday Night Bites (book #2).

If you had to pick one, what’s the best book you’ve read in the last twelve months?

Alpha by Rachel Vincent. It’s the conclusion to an amazing series. I highly recommend it!

Who are your three favourite authors?

Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Vincent and Jeanine Frost.

Which book has had the greatest impact on your life?

Probably the Anne of Green Gables series by L. M. Montgomery.

Which books are you most eagerly anticipating?

One Grave At A Time by Jeaniene Frost and Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer.

Which book character is most like you?

Cassandra DuCharme from the Women of the Otherworld series because she’s withdrawn and just doesn’t seem to really fit in anywhere. I wish I was more like the ass-kicking heroines in the books that I read but I decided to be honest!

If you had to invite some book characters round for dinner, who would you choose and why?

Probably Bones (Night Huntress series), Barrons (Fever series), Jean-Claude (Anita Blake series) and Eric (Sookie Stackhouse series) to find out once and for all which of them is the hottest fictional man! But don’t tell my boyfriend I said that! ;)

What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Whether you’re struggling with formatting or just want to know how to get free books; the blogger community is your bestĀ resourceĀ and the majority of us will usually go out of our way to help out a beginner.

Which other book blogs do you recommend?

Parajunkee’s View, All Things Urban Fantasy (see Book Blogger Q&A 6) and Dark Fairie Tales are probably the best go-to blogs for Paranormal readers.

Many thanks to Carmel for taking the time to complete the Q&A. If you haven’t already done so, check out her blog, and follow her on Twitter.
